It’s been a little over eight months since I started publishing Disability Thinking Weekday as an “every day” bulletin. My thought has been that daily newsletters, (or weekday anyway), are rare, and that this was an opportunity to provide something genuinely new. So far, the weekday schedule has worked well for me. And subscriber growth has been decent.
Still, this might be a good time to check in on a couple of alternative ideas, to see if they would be feasible or even more popular.
First, there’s a question about basic format. Should I keep going as I am, or instead go to just one newsletter per week, with maybe 8-10 linked articles each?
Next, I’d like to know how wrenching it would be, or maybe even appreciated, if I switched the newsletter to a different platform altogether, rather than Substack:
Please do feel free to add any more specific comments on what you think might make this newsletter better.
I really appreciate all your support!
I really like the current format to have a look at everyday and your summaries are great for keeping up to date even if I don't read every single article. I also like the range of articles and feel you meet my needs of getting angry at ableism yet positive articles too. Best wishes from London, UK
I enjoy the current format because it provides bite-sized information that I can dig deeper into depending on how busy I am. (And some articles are really eye-opening!) That said, I imagine it's demanding for you to keep up with. I'm flexible and would be okay with you opting for once a week if it works better for you.
